Paper Clips

Paper clips can be useful. They can clip paper together (obviously), which can be a hard task otherwise. However, I do not think this is worth the side effects. The paper clip can be used for many sinful purposes. If a paper clip is unfolded, it can become a lock-picking device, giving knowlageable people the ability to go places they shouldn't go and do things they shouldn't do. Unwound paper clips are also dangereous. They can poke or scratch somebody or something. Overall, paper clips may be a useful invention, but they are not worth the risk.

Rev. Wheet, I am ashamed of you. Can't you give us humans a chance to make our own good decisions about how to use technology? The paper clip itself is not at fault--that is the work of its owner.

Hello John. I didn't know you knew about my blog. Anyway, you are very right in saying it is the owner's fault and not that of the paper clip. But think about it - without the paper clip, this wouldn't happen. Bobby pins too. If you get rid of the paper clip and the bobby pin, it's so much harder to do everything I mentioned in the previous post.

Get rid of every potential danger and what's left? I admire your concern for public safety, but this paper clip thing is going a bit far. We aren't dogs, you know, who have to be taken care of. We should learn to make good decisions ourselves.
